These are fruit bats. There are a couple thousand of these gigantic critters in the Sydney Botanical Gardens. Definitely going to spend some time here. And wear a hat.

We're off to Oz...

In 59 days, I'm crossing something major off my Bucket List. Something I've wanted to do since I was about 6 and discovered a book about crazy venomous snakes.

So now, my Bucket List will look a bit more like this:

• have a job
• finish my PhD
• visit Australia

I'm heading Down Under!
